Digi-scrap Collab Week 7

Emily's is still to come here, so here are the layouts:

No journaling, because it's pretty self-explanatory: excellent Mexican food, a furniture store with cherry sours and fudge, and a man-sized hot dog. It doesn't get much better than that. Photo credits: Hot dog: Flickr user Poodle Superstar, Chuy's sign: DFWandMe.com, Weir's sign: Weir's Furniture

And Casey's LO (and Casey's blog for next week's challenge):

And Emily's!

Journal: There is a lot we don’t like about our neighborhood. Plenty of things we want in addition to and instead of in the next place we live. But I will say that there are plenty of places to run and play, have a picnic, kick a ball, ride a bike, play tag, lay in the grass and all sorts of other outside family things to do. We moved here 6 months after we become a family of 3 and are still here almost 4 years later. Our family has grown in number and in size and we are still having fun.

And late entry into this week's challenge - I invited my mom to join in!

Tardy Digi-Scrap Collab

I didn't get a chance to do any scanning until today, so I barely finished last week's collab in time for next week's. Journaling reads:

10 years ago, it looks like I spent a lot of time standing with my friend with my arms crossed. In truth, 10 years ago, I enjoyed hanging out with friends, traveling, reading, and music.

Today? I love hanging out with my husband and friends, traveling, reading, crafting, and music.

I may look a bit different now, but I'm pretty much the same person.

Little Pretty

I've had this little project sitting on my desk, half finished, since Thursday. I'd been keeping an eye out for a nice little antique bottle to put these pearls in - the color is so pretty, I wanted to use them in something where I could pile them all together, rather than putting them on different projects.

I made a little rosette out of rose-colored seam binding, backed it with an old velveteen flower, and tied it on to the bottle with a pretty brad. Topped it all off with a hatpin and my neat new peridot glitter (from Smitten) for contrast, and I think it turned out really sweet.

Digiscrap Collab

I'm going to be really late with my entry to Kristen's challenge, because I'm lame and don't have a scanner, and ended up running around town all day and didn't get a chance to take a photo up to work to scan.

On to my challenge, though, so everybody else can get started on it:

We all like to get outside once in a while, when we're not digiscrapping, and it's the prettiest time of year. So... what's your favorite thing about the neighborhood you live in?

Life in the Craftroom

Haven't been too inspired lately, but I noticed today that one of the sunrooms upstairs has a ton of plants, and decided to go get myself some. We have a gardening store at the other end of our block, and mom got us a gift card to it when we moved in, so I went and found this little aloe plant today. I've been wanting an aloe plant for a while, and just love the little blue pot. I think I'm going to go back tomorrow and maybe get a fern. I wanted to come home first and research to make sure they're not too high-maintenance, and it looks like it'll be easy enough to take care of. The only question now is: white pot or yellow?

Update: Went and got my second plant today. She talked me into this one instead of the fern, because it's supposedly foolproof. I think I can handle it:

Pink and Black

Haven't had much stamping mojo lately, but I found some pink and black Making Memories rub-ons on clearance at Michaels and got inspired.

The little black bling came with one of the rub-on packets - I used it to dot the 'i' in "Believe," from my new Fancy Pants Bella Brush set. The background is also from Bella Brush, stamped in PTI's True Black and outlined with my sparkle gel pen, then topped with the cool rub-on.

I've had Bella Brush for a week now, and just couldn't get started with it - it's too pretty, and I couldn't decide where to begin. The stamps go so well with these rub-ons, though. I double-stamped the butterfly, then glittered it and popped one up on dimensionals.

The background flourish here is also from Bella Brush, and the sentiment is part of one of the rub-ons. I thought the frame that came around it was overkill, but I like the sentiment a lot.

Digi-collab Weeks 4 and 5

I forgot to post to my own blog last week, so my Week 4 page is below. This week's challenge from Emily is Silly Faces:
